Olive Rixey Butler's Obituary
Olive Rixey Butler, 90, of Culpeper died Friday, May 15, 2009 at the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community. She was born February 1, 1919 in Culpeper, VA to the late Basil Charles Bennett and Anita Caskie Bennett.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Tucker Butler and her sister, Jane Caton.
She is survived by her son, Judson Rea Butler and his wife, Marcia of Culpeper, two sisters, Elizabeth Alsop and Sarah Davidson, both of Culpeper, her grandchildren, Jonathan Rhett Butler and Steven Shane Butler, her great grandchildren, Tucker Daniel Butler and Gracie Elizabeth Butler and several nieces.
Mrs. Butler was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church where she used to work in the food closet and in the nursery. She was a retired antique dealer and loved playing cards, especially Bridge.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Brad Jackson officiating.
