Octavia Fitzgerald's Obituary
Octavia S. Fitzgerald, 70, of Culpeper died Friday, April 23, 2010 at her residence. She was born May 27, 1939 in Culpeper to the late Johnny M. Smith and the late Catherine Delf Smith.
Mrs. Fitzgerald is remembered particularly as an excellent cook who kept a spotless house.
She is survived by her son, Daryl Fitzgerald, her daughter Raina Weakley, both of Culpeper, six grandchildren, Alyssa and Megan Payne, Justin Dodson, Daryl N. Fitzgerald, Jr. and Logan and Brittany Fitzgerald and one step-grandchild, Cayla Geddes.
Other survivors include a brother, Jimmy Smith, and five sisters, Stella Johnson, Sandra Reaves, Mary Thomas, Brenda Smith and Janet Johnson.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fitzgerald is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Nelson Fitzgerald, Jr. and a sister, Susie Soutter.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper with Rev. Sandy Martin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Daryl Fitzgerald, William Hartman, Kevin and Andy Winn, Adam Guinn and Timothy Stringfellow.
