Nyella Shifflett's Obituary
Nyella May Shifflett, 69, of Fredericksburg went to be with the Lord Monday, March 14, 2011 at Kindred Hospital in Richmond.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and a member of New Glory Ministries in Stafford.
Nyella is survived by her children, Jenita Kay McVicker and her husband, John Douglas of Fredericksburg, Edward W. Shifflett and his wife, Mary Ann of Hartwood and Tina Shorter and her husband, Steve of Spotsylvania County; two sisters, two brothers, seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Cornelious Shifflett, Jr.
Nyella’s family will receive friends Thursday, March 17, 2011 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 18, 2011 at 11:00 am at the funeral chapel with Pastor J.C. Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery in Hartwood.
Pallbearers will be Ed Shifflett, Doug McVicker, Jimmy Shifflett, Jared McVicker, Jesse McVicker and Bobby Austin.
In lieu of flowers Nyella’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Lung Association, 9702 Gayton Road # 110, Richmond, VA 23238-4907 or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Central Virginia Chapter, 1301 North Hamilton Street # 108, Richmond, VA 23230.
