Norma Smith Boggs' Obituary
Norma Smith Boggs, 71, of Spotsylvania County entered eternal life Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mrs. Boggs was born August 6, 1944 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late, Francis and Yvonne Beauregard.
She worked in The Officer Personnel Office, Fort Devens, Massachusetts, and in 1966 she married Charles N. Smith. Charles and Norma made their home in Virginia in 1967, and they had two daughters, Barbara and Catherine. Charles and Norma established a very successful insurance adjuster’s business, which they operated in Fredericksburg for many years.
Norma later worked in the Executive Headquarters at Mary Washington Hospital. Following Charles’ prolonged fight with cancer, and his death in 1995, she worked in Mary Washington Hospital’s Managed Care Department.
In December 1996 Norma married Lt. Colonel Lewis A. Boggs, IV, and they made their home at Lake Anna.
Norma is survived by her husband, Lewis; her daughters, Barbara Suplita and her husband, Joe, and Catherine McManama and her husband, Adam; two grandsons, Thomas “Bud” McManama and Sean Zewe; one granddaughter, Abby McManama; two sisters, Carol Coggan of Cornwell, England and Jane Howell of Fitchburg; and one brother, Kenny Beauregard of Fitchburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; and a brother, Larry.
Norma’s family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jeffrey Edmunds officiating. A reception with a light luncheon will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Quantico National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
