Nicholas Xavier Kuehn's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nicholas Xavier Kuehn, 19, on March 29, 2026. He was born on April 15, 2006, in Burlington, North Carolina. He left us far too soon, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, quiet strength, and a deeply caring spirit. Nicholas brought immeasurable joy, laughter, and love to all who knew him.
Nicholas is survived by his parents, Jason and Jennifer Kuehn; his maternal grandparents, Jay and Jeany Hubbell; his paternal grandparents, Walter and Marie Kuehn; his brother, Brady Kuehn; his uncle, Jimmy Hubbell; his aunts, Angela Breeze (Dwayne) and Heather Kuehn; and his Godparents, Michael and Vidia Wray.
Nicholas will be remembered as a kind-hearted, thoughtful, and dependable young man whose quick wit and gentle humor brought light to those around him. Though often quiet and observant, he had a special way of making others feel understood, valued, and at ease. He was a loving son and a devoted brother, and his presence will be profoundly missed.
From a young age, Nicholas had a love of soccer, playing since he was four years old. He played club soccer for FCSC, NPSC, CSC, and recreational soccer with WYSC and CSC. His love for the game extended beyond playing. At thirteen, he became a soccer referee, showing responsibility and determination as he worked to earn his own income. He also loved following the World Cup and was a dedicated Manchester United fan.
Nicholas was a hardworking and dedicated student who took great pride in his education. He graduated from Fauquier High School in 2024 with an Advanced Diploma with highest honors and completed the Cybersecurity Academy with honors. During high school, he also earned his Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification. He was a member of the National Honor Society and gave back to his community through programs such as volunteering for Fauquier FRESH, Fauquier FISH, and Books on the Bus, as well as through events with Culpeper County Parks and Recreation and Experience Old Town Warrenton. Nicholas was recognized as a community volunteer for Fauquier FRESH; and was also recognized at a Fauquier County School Board meeting as a community volunteer for Books on the Bus. Nicholas played soccer for three years and ran on the winter and spring track teams as a sprinter for Fauquier High School.
Nicholas continued his journey as a proud Hokie at Virginia Tech, where he was a junior studying Cybersecurity Management and Analytics. His commitment to excellence earned him a place on the Dean’s List. He worked in campus dining services and was involved with the Securitas Living Learning Community. In his free time, he enjoyed going to the gym and playing basketball with friends, finding joy in both fitness and fellowship.
Beyond his accomplishments, Nicholas cherished time spent with family and friends. Whether playing board games, video games, badminton, or enjoying family movie and game nights, these moments were where his warmth and humor shined brightest. Some of his happiest memories included racing jet skis in Key West, visiting the Outer Banks, Universal Studios, his 8th-grade trip to Quebec, and treasured family time in Durham, North Carolina, and Charleston, South Carolina, which brought him great joy and lasting memories.
Nicholas also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Dasher, who found his favorite place in the world, cuddled up with him.
Though his time with us was far too short, Nicholas made a lasting impact on everyone he met. His kindness, humor, patience, and genuine care for others will never be forgotten.
