Nellie Skinner Pugh's Obituary
Nellie Laverne Skinner Pugh, 92, of Fredericksburg passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 at Mary Washington Hospital.
Nellie enjoyed dancing and her life. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, and always put others before herself.
She was a den mother for Boy Scout Troop 179, a Girl Scout assistant, room mother for school events, band booster volunteer, nursing aide at Hughes Home, and volunteered with USO during World War II.
Nellie is survived by her children, Chuck Jr., Liz Elmore, and Bobby Pugh; and was Nana to nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; four brothers, Jimmy, John, Wayne and Kenny; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Elizabeth Skinner; daughter, Pam; son, Ritchie; brother, Aubrey; and three sisters, Ann, Lois, and Hazel.
A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg.
In lieu of flowers, Nellie’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Fredericksburg Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 444, Fredericksburg, VA 22404.
