Nellie Lou Burns' Obituary
Nellie Lou Thomas Burns, 75, of Culpeper died Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born August 8, 1935 in Putnam County, VA to the late William and Thelma Kirk Thomas.
Mrs. Burns was a member of First Baptist Church in Culpeper.
She is survived by her children, Joyce Ann Tackett and her husband, Buzz of Ashland, KY, Timothy Alan Church and his wife, Debbie of Ashland, KY, Betty Lou McClung and her husband, Mike of Culpeper, Gail Lohr and her husband, Melvin of Culpeper, Joseph Sanford Burns and his wife, Paula of Culpeper, Effie Miller and her husband, Francis of Mineral, James Franklin Burns of Culpeper and Vernie I. McGuire and her husband, Robert of Meadowbridge, WV, one brother, Earl Kanute of Ironton, OH, 36 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel William Burns, Sr., three children, Daniel William Burns, Jr., Matthew Darrell Burns, Sr., and Alberta Sue Shaffer, two brothers and one sister.
DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE VISITATION HAS BEEN MOVED TO THURSDAY, JANUARY 27, 2011 FROM 12 TO 2 P.M. AT FOUND AND SONS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 850 SPERRYVILLE PIKE, CULPEPER, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor Russell Jenkins officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
