Neil A. Van Pelt 's Obituary
Neil Allen Van Pelt, 24, of Richmond died Wednesday, June 16, 2010. He was born May 28, 1986 in Lynchburg, VA to Rev. Barry Neil and Martha Feagan Van Pelt.
Neil was a 2004 graduate of Culpeper County High School and later graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS in Biology in 2008. He was currently in his 3nd year at Virginia Commonwealth University where he was studying to become a doctor of Pharmacology. He was a member of Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmacy Fraternity and of the Rho Chi Honor Society. Neil was strong in his Christian faith and was Baptist by denomination. He will be remembered as a wonderful son, brother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Jeremy Van Pelt and his wife, Jinli of Culpeper, Catherine Van Pelt of Richardsville, and Christie El-Nemr and her husband, Khaled of Richardsville, his paternal grandmother, Eileen Van Pelt of Mt. Crawford and his girlfriend, Hillary Louise Hudgins of Richmond.
Additional survivors include his extended family, Charlie, Sue and Brandon Feagan of Richardsville, Allen, Valerie, Christopher, Erin and Rilee of Richardsville, Cathy Slemp of Fredericksburg, Boyd and Susan Van Pelt III of Weyers Cave, VA, Craig and Paige Stevens of Bridgewater, Boyd and Connie Van Pelt IV of Dryden, VA, John and Beth Van Pelt and Thomas and Kinley Van Pelt, all of Weyers Cave, Stephen and Nicki Van Pelt of Mt. Sidney, VA, and a host of other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 19, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at 4 p.m. at Richardsville United Methodist Church with Rev. Sanford Martin and Rev. Stan Mulford officiating.
Interment will follow in the Richardsville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
