Naomi May Zehner's Obituary
Naomi May Zehner, 77, of Amissville died September 15, 2016 at Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton, VA due to complications of leukemia. Born July 15, 1939 in Richland County, OH, she was the daughter of the late Cecil Edward and Iva May (Artz) Osborne.
She graduated from Shelby High School, Shelby, OH in 1957 and married her present husband on June 22, 1962, who was a member of The United States Navy Band in Washington, D.C.
She was a member of the Montclair Arts and Crafts Club and the Dumfries United Methodist Church Arts and Crafts Club. She was very active in her church, the Oak Shade United Methodist Church in Rixeyville, VA, where she served in several capacities including president of the Women of Faith, choir member and skilled decorator. Her greatest accomplishment was her devotion to her family. She was a foster parent to five infants and raised four of her own children.
She is survived by her husband, David E. Zehner; two sons, Darren E. Zehner and his wife, Joy; and Kevin D. Zehner; one daughter, Daneen M. Colligan; two brothers, Larry E. Osborne and his wife, Doris and Charles E. Osborne and his wife, Betty; and five grandchildren, Alesia Colligan, Michael Colligan, Gaaelya Colligan, Cherie Zehner and Alexis Zehner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Kari Reneé Zehner; one sister, Martha Marie Yocum; and one grandson, Nicholas Sterling Zehner.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 19, from 6pm to 8pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 20, at 2pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kang Lee officiating.
Interment will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
