Naomi Jane Aylor's Obituary
Naomi Jane Aylor, 78, of Culpeper passed peacefully from this earth on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 and is now in the presence of Jesus her Lord. She was born December 15, 1940 in Tazewell, Virginia to the late Troy and Willie Hall Compton.
Naomi loved God, her family and her country. She was an active member of Culpeper Baptist Church where she thoroughly enjoyed the years she spent teaching children’s Sunday school. She was also an active member of the adult church choir and worked on the flower committee for many years.
Naomi especially loved gardening and was a long time member of the Calfee Garden Club. She worked for a time in the public school system in the reading lab. She enjoyed all aspects of working at Jack & Jill children’s clothing store. In her later years she enjoyed cruises and playing golf with her husband, Robert and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert H. Aylor; was a loving mother to four children, Robert H. Aylor, Jr. (Lesa), Pamela L. Luthman (Nick), Anthony W. Aylor (Karen), and Timothy D. Aylor; and her siblings, Hubert Compton (Lu), Harry Compton (Sharon), Douglas Compton, Dellis Compton (Sharon), Shirley Gooding, and Eunice Chisholm (Carroll).
She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Alison, Derek, Jenna, Lindsey and Kathryn; and two great grandchildren, Mia and Madison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Patsy Leach.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Culpeper Baptist Church, 318 S. West St., Culpeper, VA with Pastors Dan Carlton and Hans Murdoch officiating.
Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
A fellowship meal will be held at the church immediately following the burial.
