Nancy Jean Whitten's Obituary
Nancy Jean Whitten, 65, of Partlow, passed away with her family by her side, Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Mary Washington Hospital.
She was an amazing mother and loving wife. Nancy loved to dance and was the life of the party. She was like a mother to all the kids in the neighborhood.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Daniel Whitten, Sr., who was her childhood sweetheart. They have been together since they were 13 years old. She is also survived by a son, Daniel Whitten, Jr. of Partlow; a daughter, Tammy Randall (Gary) of Ruther Glen; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Henry “Duke” McElroy, Jr. of Baltimore; two sisters, Linda Chaney of Florida, and Janice Zuk of Baltimore; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Gray; her parents, Henry McElroy, Sr. and Elenor Groth; brother, Donald McElroy; and sister, Brenda Warren.
Nancy’s family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2017 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
