Nancy was my neighbor for 20 years, we bought our house across from her. We had many fun times talking about gardening and catching those pesky groundhogs and relocating them because they were eating up our tomatoes and squash. She loved my kitties even took in my cat Simba only to rename him Samsoon. We hugged and cried when he passed away. I was so happy he adopted her and gave her a new furbaby friend. Nancy was such a character! The Wednesday before she passed she came over and said when the winter is over I want you to help me adopt a new kitty. She had mourned enough and was ready. I told her yes I know someone with animal rescue that could help. During our last conversation I said Nancy daffodils will be coming up soon and I asked remembered when I first moved here that I had planted over 200 daffodil bulbs and the next spring they didn't come up. I asked her why and she said Mollie as fast as you planted them the squirrels were digging them up when you weren't looking 😅 She remembered that and then we had a good laugh. My daughter always called her Nina and boy did she live all the kids in our neighborhood ❤️ Our neighborhood is not the same without her 😢 Miss Nancy was a good friend, neighbor and like a Mom to me. I will miss her very much and our talks. Rest in peace Nina. I'm sure many of the neighbors feel the same.
