Nancy Snead Meredith's Obituary
Nancy Snead Meredith, 66, of Culpeper died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the UVA Transitional Care Hospital. She was born June 14, 1947 in Madison to the late John Henry and Betty Jane Jenkins.
Mrs. Meredith attended Culpeper Free Methodist Church. She retired from Wrangler in Madison after 35 years and was later employed by Wal-Mart as a greeter because she loved meeting people. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Thomas Edward Meredith; three children, Teresa Pullen and her husband, Jimmie of Culpeper, Tammy Hicks and her husband, Scott of Culpeper and Michael Meredith and his wife, Lorie of Orange; and three siblings, Margaret Weaver of Madison, Ethel Jenkins of Madison and Nina Bane of Sperryville.
Additional survivors include seven grandchildren, Kayla and Ethan Pullen of Culpeper, Kiley and Nolan Hicks of Culpeper, and Savana, Gavin and Grayson Meredith of Orange.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Clarence, Gid, James “Jim”, Andrew, Henry and John Jenkins; and four sisters, Gladys Jenkins, Martha Smoot, Marie Smooth and Ruth Leake.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 7 to 9 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 2 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charles Beahm officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
