Nancy Lynn Holmes' Obituary
Nancy Lynn Holmes, age 64, entered eternal rest, July 25, 2022.
Survivors include her son, Mark Holmes (Priscilla); sisters, Jane Reeve (Vernon), and Suzanne Butt (Naveed); four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family from Scranton, PA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kevin Holmes; son, Jason Holmes; parents, John and Christine Usher; brother, John Usher, Jr., and maternal grandmother, Eunice P. Block.
A resident of Stafford County, Nancy had a long, successful career at Marine Corps Community Services, MCBQ, retiring in 2015. Understanding the importance of supporting our nations Armed Services, Nancy was dedicated and honored to work alongside her civilian and military colleagues. During her honorable tenure, she received multiple distinguished service awards acknowledging her dedication and unequalled excellence. Her attentiveness to her family and friends was unconditional, always lending a hand, providing warm meals, and a gracious heart. Growing up with a large family, she carried on many family traditions, always the charitable and favorite host. Over the last several years, Nancy was indebted with gratitude for the outpouring of friendship from MCCS colleagues and the Fairfax County Police Department.
The family will receive visitors during a Celebration of Life, beginning 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Rd., Fredericksburg, VA, following with a burial service at Oak Hill Cemetery at 12:00 p.m.
Her life and joy were her husband, Kevin, whom she wished to be buried with. May they both rest in peace alongside their son, Jason.
