Ashley and Michael, I have not met you but hope you receive this late message. I spent many hours with Nancy at work at PBMares. She was fantastic to work with and I enjoyed every minute of it. I'm standing in one of the hallways of Hugh Mercer Elementary, and I see Nancy come through the front doors of the school. Most of the time she's smiling and ready to burst out into laughter. Other times, she has a serious look on her face, and I wonder what she's thinking. Nancy wore her feelings on her sleeve. She was strong, but vulnerable enough to admit when she needed help. If you knew her even casually as I did, you had a sense of her realness and honesty. There was nothing phony about her. She laughed and almost always made me laugh about something dumb either I said or she said.
Nancy adored her children, Michael and Ashley, and was always their biggest advocate while they were in school. My heart is heavy.
Love to you Michael and Ashley. I wish you didn't have to carry this much pain.
