Murphy Julian Reid,Sr.'s Obituary
Murphy Julian Reid Sr., 76, of Castleton, died Monday, January 16, 2012 at the Fauquier hospital.
Murphy was born August 17, 1935 in Charlottesville to the late Julian Alexander and Sarah Frances Corbin Reid. Murphy was raised by his grandparents, the late Minister and Mrs. Warren Corbin of Woodville.
Murphy is survived by his wife Barbara Lee Griffith Reid, and their three children, Beverly Bliss and her husband David of Hampton, Va, Murphy J. Reid Jr. of Winchester, Va, and Kimberly Novak and her husband Paul of Castleton, Va. Murphy is also survived by two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels of Culpeper, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at the Sperryville Cemetery.
Pallbearers named are Richard Raines, Richard Griffith, Kenneth Bywaters, Keith Bywaters, Murphy Reid Jr., and Ross O’Donoghue.
Honorary pallbearers named are Paul Novak, Daniel Norman, Parker Hines and Robert Sheffield.
