Mildred Mae "Millie" Smith's Obituary
Mildred Mae “Millie” Smith, 65, of Remington died Monday, October 5, 2015 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. She was born October 5, 1950 in Fauquier to the late John and Viola Woodward Haines.
Millie was a retired daycare provider. She cared for many children throughout the years and was a second mom to many. She was the treasurer for the Remington Lions Club and enjoyed coordinating their special events. She loved dancing, blue grass and country music and spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Millie was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, LaDeana Smith Oveysi and her husband, Sebastian; her fiancé, William “Billy” Gray; five siblings, Virginia Hitt of Culpeper, William Haines and his wife, Peggy of Bealeton, Richard Haines and his wife, Hazel of Brandy Station, Elmer Haines and his wife, Becky of Culpeper and John Haines, Jr. and his wife, Brenda of Culpeper; and four grandchildren, Alyssa Ortiz-Smith, Brishen, Savion and Sierra Rojas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings, Rose Mary Haines, Thomas Haines, Charles Turner Haines, Floyd “Buddy” Haines, Beulah Southard and Mary Ann Woodward.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 11 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Harry Schaidt officiating.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
