Mildred Jeanette Murphy's Obituary
Mildred Jeanette Murphy, 82, of Culpeper, VA entered her eternal life on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at University of Virginia Medical Center surrounded by her family. She will always be known to her family as Nana.
Mildred was born on December 6, 1933 in Culpeper, VA to the late William Percy Johnson and Elizabeth Junette Johnson.
Mildred enjoyed crafts, had a passion for reading and loved her cats. She retired from Culpeper Memorial Hospital in 2000. Her biggest source of happiness was being Nana to Ben and Rachel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeremiah Francis Murphy of 46 years.
Survivors include her children, Kevin Francis Murphy, Mary Margaret Murphy, Kathleen Letitia Murphy- Brown (Gary), and Geraldine Murphy Smith; and family friends: Bryant O. Smith, III and Sandy and Clif Turman.
Additional survivors include her grandchildren, Benjamin and Rachel Turman of Fredericksburg, Robin (Henry) Cole, Tim, Sean (J.P. McCallister) and Joel (Mindy) Smith, Rebekka Carter; and great grandchildren, Henry Cole, III, Trevor Cole, Elijah and Joshua Smith.
The family will be having a Celebration of Life service on Sunday, January 31, 2016 for immediate family members only.
Inurnment will be held at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Lung Association, 9702 Gayton Rd, 110, Richmond, VA 23238.
