Mildred Roquemore Hartnett's Obituary
Mildred Roquemore Douglas Hartnett, 85, died peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, May 1, 2015.
She was first and foremost, a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was also a very active and involved member of the Fredericksburg Seventh Day Adventist Church, and the director of the church’s community center in downtown Fredericksburg, assisting people in need for 25 years.
Mildred is survived by her husband of 66 years, Thomas P. Hartnett Sr., their children: Carolyn Huffstickler, Thomas P. Hartnett Jr., Mary Ann Hartnett-Smith and her husband Eric Smith, Timothy Hartnett, Doug Hartnett and his wife Patricia Mcdonald, Christine Mathews and her husband Coy Mathews, Rebecca Durichek and her husband John Duricheck, David Hartnett, Kelly Wilkinson and her husband Adrian Wilkinson, grandchildren: Beth Brooks and her husband Jason Brooks, Andrew Huffstickler and his wife Carissa Huffstickler, Jacob Huffstickler and his wife Lauren Huffstickler, Jesse Mathews and his wife Astin Mathews, Brandon Mathews, Trevor Mathews, Seth Mathews, Joseph Durichek and his wife Brittany Durichek, Samuel Huffstickler and his fiancée Katie Newton, Shoal Wilkinson, Emily Durichek, Eli Wilkinson, Kyle Wilkinson, Ben Hartnett and Sarah Durichek, great grandchildren: Wesley Brooks, Ashley Sullivan, Ross Huffstickler, Margret Brooks, Cale Hughes, Mason Huffstickler, Megan Huffstickler, Lily Brooks, Ian Huffstickler, Winter Mathews, great great grandson: Aiden Campbell, sister Isabel Good, and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her son in law Dennis Huffstickler, her sister Eleanor DeShazo, her brothers John Bennett Douglas II and Sidney Douglas and her parents John Bennett Douglas and Florence Hughes Douglas.
In memory of Mildred’s passion for community service, please bring a non perishable food item to the funeral, which will be donated to Hope House in Fredericksburg, VA.
