It was wonderful to have Millie as my friend. She was charming, capable, and out-going with a beautiful smile and a cute little giggle that made everyone love her. She was devoted to her family, but in retirement she took on responsibilities in several organizations of which she was a part. What she did, she did well. She and her extended family gave much of their time and talents to Bethel Baptist Church, and the church benefitted greatly.
I loved the times that Millie and I would wind up at Pepper's and have lunch together. She told me just last Thanksgiving that she wanted to do it again, but that wasn't to be. Millie had a lot of love in her heart, and she freely gave it away. Thank God that Ken, Thomas, and I were recipients of her love.
I will miss seeing Millie, talking on the phone with her, reading her letters, and visiting with her. May she rest in peace now that her mind is at ease. I pray that God will comfort all of you, her dear family. You took good care of her. You have my sympathy.
