Michael Anthony Veeney's Obituary
Michael Anthony Veeney, 55, of Orange, died Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Novant Health UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center. He was born December 25, 1962 in Charlottesville to the late Carroll and Mary Thompson Veeney.
Mr. Veeney worked at Inskeep Farm for many years and most recently at S.W. Rodgers Company. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved playing horseshoes and softball. Mr. Veeney was a loving, caring father and brother who always cared more about others than himself.
He is survived by his daughter, LaToya Veeney; six siblings, Carolyn Wormley, Denise Gavin and her husband, Butch, Diane Butler, Lester Veeney and Joyce, Lindell Veeney and his wife, Mary, and Steve Veeney; his sister-in-law, Aliese Veeney; very special friend whom he loved dearly, Jo Jo; and a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerome Veeney and Jerry Veeney; one niece, Latisha Butler; and two brothers-in-law, George Wormley and John Butler, Sr.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 12 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor James Strother officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
