Michael Lann Tyus' Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Lann Tyus, 44, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, who passed away unexpectedly at home on January 16, 2025. His sudden departure leaves a hole in the hearts of those who loved him.
Michael was born on July 21, 1980, in Florida to Michael Tyus and the late Cynthia Bradford. Michael is survived by his father, Michael Tyus; his stepfather, Robert Bradford; his sister, Heather Pryor and her husband, Shawn Pryor.
He grew up in Tallahassee, where he made many lifelong friendships. Though naturally introverted, he had an innate ability to connect with those who took the time to get to know him. His thoughtfulness, genuine nature, and empathy made him a cherished friend to many. Michael was often happiest in the company of those closest to him, where his true warmth and wit could shine through.
Throughout his life, Michael found fulfillment in supporting the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida State University Football. He enjoyed playing disc golf, hiking, golf, camping, and fishing. Michael’s love for music and friendship was clear to all who knew him. He didn’t seek the spotlight, but he was always there to lend a hand, share a word of encouragement, or offer a quiet moment of understanding. Michael valued deep connections over large crowds, and his loyalty and sincerity left an impression on everyone he met.
Michael will be remembered by his best friend of 20 years, Crystal Wallace; her husband, Scott Wallace; son, Jayden Wallace; and daughter Rori Wallace, of Fredericksburg, Virginia. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who have had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service round of disc golf will be held on Saturday February 1, 2025, at Loriella Park starting at 9 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Spotsy Disc Golf Club in Michael’s memory. Memorial in Florida to be determined.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, introspective nature, and his unwavering love for his family and close friends. He will never be forgotten, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who loved him.
