Michael Joseph Felczak's Obituary
Michael Joseph Felczak, 77, of Culpeper, VA, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at his residence. He was born on January 9, 1949, in Lebanon, PA, to the late Agnes Felczak.
Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper, demonstrating courage, dedication, and a strong sense of duty. Following his military service, he continued his commitment to public safety through a career of sprinkler and fire protection with Simplex Grinnell and then continued with his career at Fairfax County, where he served as a Fire Marshal. His work reflected his passion for protecting others and serving his community.
Michael was a devoted sports fan who especially loved cheering on the Washington Redskins and the Washington Capitals. Whether watching a game at home or discussing the latest season with friends and family, he enjoyed sharing his enthusiasm for his favorite teams. He also found great companionship in his beloved dog, Marty, who was a constant source of comfort, loyalty, and joy.
Michael is survived by his son, Jaimy Felczak(April); step-daughter, Dawn Rana; step-son, Shane Mendel (Natalie); grandchildren, Destiny Mendel and Haylee Rana; his cherished furry companion, Marty; and a host of additional family members and friends.
In addition to his mother, Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Rose Felczak; and his brothers, Anthony Felczak and Stanley Felczak.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at a later date.
