Melvin Elwood Sanborn's Obituary
In memory of Melvin Elwood Sanborn who passed away suddenly while extending his labors of love to his church & his family on Sunday, December 4, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years Marjorie Downs Sanborn and also his father, Garrett Clute Sanborn and his mother, Mary Lella Sanborn.
Melvin is survived by his children, Jim, his wife, Dorothy, Teri, Michael, his wife, Cheryl and Sandy and her late husband, Charles.
Melvin was a loving grandfather of three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Melvin is a charter member of Manassas Seventh-day Adventist Church and has been attending there for 46 years. He worked tirelessly as head deacon and was “Master Builder “of the church.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 8, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Found and Sons Lee Funeral Chapel, 8521 Sudley Road, Manassas, VA 20109.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Manassas Seventh-day Adventist Church, 9858 Fairmont Ave., Manassas, VA 20109.
Interment will follow at Stanley Seventh-Day Adventist Church Cemetery, 118 Church Street, Stanley, VA 22851.
