Mathew Aron Coder's Obituary
Mathew A. Coder, 31, of Fredericksburg, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, January 16, 2021.
He was born in Woodbridge, VA to David Coder and Terri Vermillion. Mat graduated from Stafford High School in 2007. He was an avid Washington Redskins and Capitals fan. Mat enjoyed going to games with friends or cheering them on from home. He also loved music – especially classic rock – and enjoyed introducing younger generations to the joys of 80s hair bands. He also enjoyed fishing, was an animal lover, and loved being a stay-at-home dad. Mat was a loving husband and son, and a devoted father.
Mat is survived by his wife, Chelsea; his son, Evan; his parents; four siblings, Michelle Whorton, Brian Whorton, David Coder, Jr. and Daniel Coder; numerous loving extended family; and his closest friends, Joseph and Michael Hughes, Joey Baker, and Spencer Benson.
Services will be held at a later date.
