Mary Stuart Quaintance May Bain's Obituary
Mary Stuart Quaintance May Bain, 96, of Manassas died Sunday, June 3, 2007, at Prince William Hospital. She was born in 1911 to the late James Oscar Quaintance and Rosa Lee Gleason.
She was a retired teacher from the Arlington County Public Schools, where she taught for twenty five years. Mary Stuart attended Manassas/ St. Thomas United Methodist Church. She was formerly a resident of Rappahannock County where she was a member of the St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her children, Rosalee Dunston and her husband, Jerry, of Summerton, SC, James May and his wife, Linda, of Wilson, NC, and Carolynn Griffey and her husband, Chuck, of Manassas, VA, her grandchildren, Cynthia Dunston, Cary Dunston, Pamela May, Tiffany Schaffer, Jeremy Griffey, Danielle Slager, and six great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Bain, Jr., and her first husband, Cary L. May.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 7, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 8, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tommy Herndon officiating.
Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Dunston, Chuck Griffey, Cary Dunston, Jeremy Griffey, Henry B. Wood, and Bill May.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Capital Hospice, P.O. Box 1576, Merrifield, VA 22116-1576 &/or your favorite charity.
