Mary Ross Smith's Obituary
Mary Ross “Sissy” Smith, 73, of Culpeper died Friday, January 30, 2009 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born November 9, 1935 to the late Raymond Clatterbuck and the late Lottie Ann Fincham Clatterbuck.
Sissy enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. She is also remembered for taking care of other people. She liked vacations, going to the custard stand, and crabbing at the beach. She worked at Baby Jim’s Snack Bar for over 20 years.
She is survived by her son, David Ross, Sr. and his wife Ann, a daughter, Loretta Bean, and her husband, Gary, and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Ross.
Additional survivors include two sisters, Peggy Stanley and Betty Ann Smith and her husband, Roger. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Tiffany Marie Dixon and her husband, Dan, Rebecca Dawn Kidd and her husband, Steve, David Michael Ross, Jr. and his wife, Amy, Rachel Lee Bean and her fiancé, Chris Silski, Brandon Ross, and Ariel Mozingo, five great-grandchildren, Dax Dixon, Michaela Kidd, Amanda Dixon, Stephanie Kidd, and David Michael Ross, III, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Wright Ross, and her brother-in-law, Luther “Bully” Stanley, Sr.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Found and Sons chapel with Pastor Roger Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Bethsaida United Methodist Cemetery in Brightwood.
Pallbearers will be Gary (Butch) Bean, David Ross, Jr., Brandon Ross, Todd Stanley, Donnie Stanley and Bernard Leighan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Stanley, Jimmy Freeze, KJ Lillard, Chris Stanley, Doug Ramos, and Billy Smith.
