Mary Frances Curtis' Obituary
Mary Frances Curtis, 81, of Culpeper passed away peacefully Sunday, September 23, 2007 at the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community. She was born December 20, 1926 in Culpeper, VA to the late Otis Daugherty and Georgie Cave Daugherty.
Mary loved nature, gardening, and cats. She worked as a seamstress at Southern Sewing for many years. She had a kind and gentle spirit and will be missed very much.
She is survived by her son, John Pierce of Culpeper, her daughter, Cathy Pierce and her husband, Tom Hogeback of Oxford, OH, her sister, Rachel Leeth of Waynesboro, her brother, John Daugherty of Greensboro, NC, and three grandchildren, Amber Traska, Adam Pierce, and Monica Pierce.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Andrew Lee Daugherty, her husbands, Luther Lamb, Clarence Edward Pierce, and Claude Elliott Curtis.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Sandy Martin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nursing Department of the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community where she was cared for with a great deal of love for the past three years, P.O. Box 191, Culpeper, VA 22701.
