Mary Ellen Marlor's Obituary
Mary Ellen Marlor, 77, of Madison, VA moved on to her eternal home on Monday, June 16, 2008 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born on August 13, 1930 in Hudson’s Crossroads, VA to the late Charles F. and Annie Turner.
Mrs. Marlor was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and was an avid pet lover. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending all her time with her family and pets. She fought a courageous battle with cancer, never losing her faith through it all. Her loved ones will miss her, but are comforted knowing she is at peace and watching over them from Heaven.
She is survived by her children, Kathy Leake of Culpeper, Kenny Marlor of Rappahannock, Alan Marlor and his wife, Sun of Sumter, SC, Sandy Marlor and her husband, Jerry Smith of Valdosta, GA, Diane Thalwitz of Madison; and her siblings, Luba Golladay of Quicksburg, Va, Norman Turner of Mount Jackson, VA, and Anna Baker of Harrisonburg, VA.
Additional survivors include eight grandchildren, Rusty Leake, Angie Leake, Matt Marlor, Stephanie Hawkins, Alan Marlor, Jr., Jeannie Dangerfield, Alexi Thalwitz, Mariana Thalwitz, and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Marlor, and nine siblings.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 20, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery with Pastor Henry Aylor officiating.
