Mary is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, George L. Major; her son, George L. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Jane Epperly.
Mary enjoyed being around people, she loved bowling, camping and crafting. She opened her own business Present and Past Treasures in 2009.
Mary loved playing cards with Rylan. She and Dylan loved traveling to Nags Head and spending every summer there together.
She cherished football and couldn’t wait for fall to watch her son coach and her grandson play. Mary opened up her beach house to friends and family and was always up for a new adventure. She loved animals, especially horses and dogs. Mary truly loved her last rescue dog Poppy.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for providing compassionate care, especially from her favorite CNA, Joni Helton.
We could not have managed the past six months without her private care-giver, Chirese Anderson.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that you consider donating to the following causes, Central Va. Horse Rescue at centralvahorserescue.org or Corolla Wild Horse Fund at corollawildhorses.com
