Mary Lou Hurff's Obituary
Mary Lou Hurff, 80, of Manassas, Virginia, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on October 9, 2024.
Born on September 21, 1944, in Woodstown, NJ, Mary Lou was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Leap) Crist. After graduating from Woodstown High School in 1962, Mary Lou earned a degree in Dental Nurse Tech from the University of Pennsylvania in 1964.
Mary Lou married her high school sweetheart, Gerald Hurff, on December 17, 1965. Together they raised 3 children and enjoyed a full life of love. Mary Lou enjoyed watching her birds, growing her beautiful flowers, x-stitching, puzzles, and time with her grandchildren. While living in Nokesville, VA, Mary Lou enjoyed volunteering at the local high school and working at the Methodist Church. She was a beloved member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 59 years, Gerald; her children, Gwendolyn Hurff Wood (Jeffrey), of Manassas, VA; Allene Hurff Frederick (Peter) of Lexington, KY, and Allen Hurff, of Baltimore, MD; her grandchildren, Emily (Kyle), Victoria, Caitlyn, and Charles; her niece, Patricia; and her dear friends.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Biddle.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Mary Lou’s loving memory will live on through her children and her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
