Mary Ellen Lachacz's Obituary
Mary Ellen Lachacz, 67, of Ruther Glen, Virginia, passed away in her home on May 30, 2026.
Born on March 4, 1959, Mary was the daughter of George and Elizabeth Wood. A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, she spent her life nurturing all those around her. Her kindness, resilience, and unconditional love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mary was reunited in Heaven with those who went before her: her father, George Marshall Wood Sr.; her mother, Elizabeth Ann Wood; her eldest brother, Robert Marshall Wood Sr.; and Steven Alan Lachacz.
Her legacy of love lives on through her four children, who were her absolute pride and joy: Jamie Nyhart (Joe), James Davidson Jr. (Taylor), Christopher Lachacz (Patrisha), and Aaron Carte. Mary also leaves behind 14 grandchildren: Jenae Ellis, Daisha Ellis, Isaiah Ellis, Jeremiah Nyhart, Savanna Nyhart, Brandon Davidson, Kelsey Zotos, Kaylin Davidson, Kylee Davidson, Ryan Lachacz, Nathan Lachacz, Layla Lachacz, Eli Carte, and one great-grandson, Kairo Richardson, each who brought immense light and happiness to her life.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Carter Family Cemetery at 10423 Ada Road, Marshall, VA 20115.
