Mary E. Jenkins, 83, of Culpeper, VA died Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Culpeper’s Virginia Baptist Home. Mrs. Jenkins was born March 11, 1931 to the late Robert and Mamie Perryman Frazier.
Mary was a lifelong member of the community and longtime member of Stevensburg Baptist Church. She was a member of the Lignum-Stevensburg Home Demonstration Club. Her hobbies included quilting, crafts of all kinds, knitting and she loved fishing. She was rumored to be the best cook in the world.
Mrs. Jenkins is preceded in death by her husband Wade W. Jenkins, Jr. and her beloved son in law, Tucker Cunningham.
She is also survived by three children Linda Cunningham of Culpeper, William Jenkins and his wife Portia of Culpeper, and Bob Jenkins of Richmond.
In addition she leaves two sisters Shirley Bache and her husband Donald of Culpeper, and Carolyn Anderson and her husband Philip of Sumerduck.
Mrs. Jenkins is survived by seven grandchildren ; Michelle Vafiadis and her husband Keith of Fredericksburg, Matthew Cunningham and his wife Lisa of Charleston, SC, Daniel Cunningham and his wife Melissa of Culpeper, Heidi Jenkins of Locust Grove, Missy Jenkins and Ashley Henderson and her husband Kenny both of Fredericksburg, and Eric Jenkins and his wife Misty of Locust Grove. She is survived by nine great-grandchildren also.
The family will receive friends and family on Sunday March 8, 2015 from 6 pm-8 pm at Found and Sons. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 11 am at Stevensburg Baptist Church 19393 York Rd, Stevensburg, VA with Pastor Phillip Walker officiating.
The burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Stevensburg Baptist Church Building Fund.
