Mary M. Glass' Obituary
Mary M. Glass, 98, of Rixeyville died Friday, October 6, 2017 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born November 1, 1918 in New Haven, CT to the late Michael and Margaret Manning.
Ms. Glass was a devoted Catholic and a volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul Church of Derby, CT. She loved bingo, reading mysteries and spending time in casinos playing slots. She enjoyed playing games on her “Tabby” tablet which she learned how to use at the age of 97. Ms. Glass traveled to many parts of the world and loved it but loved and cherished her family most of all.
She is survived by two children, Ellen M. Celello and her late husband, Paul L. Celello of Rixeyville, VA, and Joseph M. Glass of CT; four grandchildren, Maria C. Fay and her husband, Larry of Boston, VA, Christy J. Celello of Culpeper, VA, Paul M. Celello and his fiancé, Linda Howard of Boston, VA, and Patrick Glass of CT; and three great grandchildren, Matt Wince and his fiancé, Jessica Hartung of Rixeyville, VA, Megan Wince of Boston, VA, Taylor Fay of Boston, VA; and one great great grandchild, Miyah Herrera of Boston, VA. Nieces and Nephews, Matt Miller of CT, Eileen Jowlett of CT, Mark Miller and wife, Susan of CT, and John Miller of CT.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Thomas Manning, Arlene Miller and John Manning.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Precious Blood Catholic Church, 114 E. Edmondson St., Culpeper, VA with Father Mark Moretti officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be sent to: Little Fork Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department at 6011 Rixeyville Road, Rixeyville, VA 22737.
