Mary Eliza Franklin's Obituary
Mary Eliza Franklin, 75, departed this life on Monday, November 15, 2021, at the UVA Culpeper Medical Center in Culpeper, VA. She was born on September 1, 1946, in Middleburg, VA to the late Edward and Rosie Cropp.
She was a determined woman who worked to become a Certified Nursing Assistant with Fauquier Hospital where she retired after 25 years of service. Serving others was part of her DNA and she was also a trusted domesticated worker. She loved to cook, dance and nurture her flowers and her garden. She was a member at Free Union Baptist Church, Mt. Pony, VA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry A. Franklin, Sr., and her parents, Edward Cropp and Rosie Butler Cropp. Mary leaves her four loving children to cherish her memory, Henry Franklin (Helen), Marie Chichester (Darryl), Zachery Franklin (Lora Turner), and Carolyn Lambert as well as her five grandchildren, Durrell Chichester, Devante’ Franklin, DaeShaun Chichester, Domenyca Bailey, Diamond Lambert and five great grandchildren.
She is also survived by a long-time friend Monique Addison, Mike Hayes, her four brothers and sisters, her five sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a dear friend and confidant, Bernice Pearson and Cheryl Hutcherson.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 1 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Pastor James Mack officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Found and Sons, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
