Marty Lee Settle's Obituary
Marty Lee Settle, 49, of Rixeyville, died Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Novant Health Systems UVA Culpeper Hospital. He was born July 14, 1974 in Culpeper to Janet Settle Burke and the late Jimmie Dolittle Settle, Sr.
Marty was a member of Black Oak Regular Baptist Church. He loved music, art, and animals. He enjoyed writing his own music, playing guitar, collecting guitars, and singing. He liked painting and drawing. Marty loved to dog sit his niece dog, Elsa. He was a fan of Westerns. He was an excellent tree climber and enjoyed working outside, fishing, and hunting. Marty was proud of his children and all of their accomplishments.
In addition to his mother, Marty is survived by his two children, Madison Christine Settle and Blakelee McCabe Settle; three siblings, Jimmie D. Settle, Jr., Ricky Settle (Sallie), and Debbie Jenkins (Kevin); nephews, Justin Settle and Jesse Settle (Sydney); nieces, Megan Lawson (Adam), Gabbie Jenkins, Brooklyn Jenkins, and Willow Jenkins; great-nephews, Bryson Settle and Preston Lawson; great-niece, Berklee Settle; special friend, Melissa Dennis; and a host of extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jimmie D. Settle, Sr., and his stepfather, Pastor John Burke.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Lee Brown officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Fairview Cemetery, Sperryville Pike, Culpeper.
Pallbearers serving the family will be Justin Settle, Kevin Jenkins, Jesse Settle, Woody Leake, III, Bobby Bailey, Tom Brooks, III, Ralph L. Brown, Jr., and Steve Fincham, II.
