Martin Van Buren Barr Jr.'s Obituary
Martin Van Buren Barr Jr., 76, of Spotsylvania County, VA passed away peacefully at his home on January 22, 2024 after a long battle with lung cancer. Martin was surrounded by friends and loved ones at the time of his passing.
Martin was born on May 27, 1947 to Martin and Margaret Barr in Dumfries, VA. After graduating from Garfield Senior High School in 1967, he worked as an electrician throughout his career. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, doing crafty projects, spending time with family, and he liked to be a jack of all trades.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy Ann Barr; and his brother, John.
Martin is survived by his sister, Doris Cornwell; his children, Vallery Barr Terry, Martin Barr III, Jerry and Phillip Ventro, and John Husted; and seven grandchildren, Isabo, Matthew, Travis, Hunter, Logan, Julie, and Brian; as well as two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Dumfries Cemetery.
