Martha Phillips Parrish's Obituary
Martha Phillips Parrish, age 90, passed away on May 20, 2025, at her residence in Culpeper, Virginia. Martha was born on July 13, 1934, in Washington, D.C., and was raised, along with her three younger sisters, in Annandale, Virginia. She graduated from Fairfax High School in 1952, and after marrying her husband Murray, moved to Vienna, Virginia in 1963, where they raised their three children, Deborah, David, and Darryl. In 1992, she and Murray moved to Culpeper.
Martha was a woman of fervent faith in Jesus Christ, her Savior. Her commitment to Christian service never wavered. She touched many lives with her love, care, and concern, and was known to write cards and letters to friends and family, regularly offering support and encouragement. She was well-loved by all who were part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Murray, and daughter, Deborah, and is survived by her sisters, Geraldine Wood and Delores Kirby; sons, David and Darryl; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Martha’s life will be held on July 19, 2025, at 1 pm at Providence Bible Church, 17211 Greens Corner Road, Culpeper, VA. She will be buried in Jeffersonton, VA.
The Parrish family extends gratitude to the caregivers at Our Father’s House and Breezy Knoll for their compassionate care of Martha over the past several years of her life.
