Marshall M. Martin's Obituary
Marshall M. Martin, 69, of Unionville, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife by his side, on Monday, June 18, 2018.
Marshall was born in 1948 to Mary and Swanson Martin. He graduated from Thomas Edison High School. Marshall then served two years in Vietnam, earning a Bronze Star. He had a long civilian career for Virginia Concrete, Exxon and as a mechanic for the government.
He loved NASCAR, racing, and collecting Hot Wheels and other cars. Marshall loved people, especially children, and he never met a stranger. He loved to surround himself with family and friends.
Marshall leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 34 years, Kay Martin, his son, Marshall M. Martin, II, of High Point, N.C., two stepsons, Steven L. Greer, and his wife Tina, of Unionville, and Bryan Greer, of Spotsylvania, four grandchildren, his beloved German Shepherd, “Rocky”, and other loving extended family.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Nina Berry and Ludie Huffman, two brothers, Gene and Jesse Martin, a stepdaughter, Donna Greer and a grandson, Steven Lynn Greer, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels, 10719 Courthouse Rd., Fredericksburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018. Burial will follow in Quantico National Cemetery.
