Mark Allen Starner's Obituary
Mark Allen Starner, 65, passed away unexpectedly at his Culpeper, Virginia, home July 6, 2016. Mark was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. His love for his son and his family was only transcended by his love for his Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. He shared his faith boldly and trained his son in the way he should go leaving him the most beautiful and wisest foundation. Mark attended Truth Baptist Church in Bealeton, VA.
Mark was the General Manager for Crossroad Coatings, LLC, and worked for M.L. Strike as a commercial estimator. He had an expertise in coatings which far exceeded even the most knowledgeable coating professionals.
Mark was born in Rock Island, Illinois, and lived there until his family moved to Minnesota. His family moved to Kansas City, Missouri, in 1963, where he lived until he was an adult. He served in the Navy, working as a hospital corpsman at the V.A. Balboa Hospital in San Diego, CA from 1974 through 1976. He held a bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
Mark is preceded in death by his loving parents, Lester Vernon Starner and Mary Louise Starner, and brother Danny. He leaves behind his loved and cherished son, Stephen Starner, brothers Steve Starner and his wife, Jeanie of Kansas City, MO; Kevin Starner and Kelly Starner and Kelly's wife, Nancy, of Liberty MO; Brien Starner and his wife, Kelly of Lees Summit, MO; Lester Starner of Point Arena, CA; and sisters Leslie Medinger, of East Moline, IL and Maureen Friedley and her husband, Dwight, of Kansas City, MO. Mark also leaves behind dozens of nephews and nieces, whom he loved and mentored at different times over the years, and who remember him with great affection and love.
Mark made an incredible impact of faith on family and friends and his zest for life, while helping many in need throughout his life, and he will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 4 p.m. Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
