Mark Rumsey
Mark E. Rumsey, 43, a lifelong resident of Spotsylvania County, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mark owned his own excavating business and was proud of his farm, Catharpin Farm. He loved his family most of all, farming, hunting, and running dogs with his friends.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Betty; a daughter, Anya Covert of Beaufort, SC; his parents Gene and Erlene Rumsey of Spotsylvania; his stepchildren, Robert Sprouse of Newport News, Ricky Sprouse of Louise, Mary Ann Pully of Spotsylvania, John Pully of Nags Head, NC, and Mark Samuels of Baltimore, MD.
He was Paw Paw to his grandchildren, Josh, Robert, Jr., Corey, Brandi (Baby Doot), Kali, Hannah and Jesse; two brothers, James and David Rumsey and one sister, Becky Rodgers, all of Spotsylvania; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
