Mark "Tumbleweed" Nickens' Obituary
Mark A. Nickens, departed this life on Sunday September 29, 2014, after battling a long illness, at Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Richmond, VA.
Mark was born December 4, 1952 in Washington D.C. to the late Leonard C. Nickens and Agnes Broughton Nickens.
He is survived by a loving sister, Maria Nickens Little and brother, Leonard D. Nickens (Arlette); nephews Leonard R. Nickens (Nicole), Eric D. Nickens, Sr. and William I Little (Amanda); two nieces Audrey Nickens and Naomi Kelly( Harlan, Jr) ; seven great nieces and nephews Georgia and Genna Nickens, (Trey) Harlan III and Mason Kelly, Eric D. Nickens, Jr Jacob and Elizabeth Little , and "brother" Danny Goosby along with all of his very devoted family, who knew him simply as "Tumbleweed", out at the American Legion Post #330 in Culpeper, Virginia.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels and Cremation Services, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with Fr. Jim Bruse from Our Lady of the Blue Ridge Catholic Church officiating.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Inurnment will follow at the Culpeper National Cemetery with Military honors provided by the VFW
