Your second mom is the person you turn to when you either A.) can’t tell your real mom something in fear of getting in trouble or B.) need a second opinion because your real parents didn’t give the answer you wanted. Regardless, she is essential for maintaining family unity and overall sanity. She’s there for you forever, because she chose to not because of blood. And that speaks volumes.
I was lucky enough to have found my second mom when I was around nine-years old when the Bywaters family moved next door, I didn’t realize how much I needed her until later in life
.
So this letter is to Mrs. “B”, my second mom.
Thank you for all the times you took me in and treated me like part of your family. Thank you for having your own family adopt me into Rodney and Scott's life and being invited to every birthday party and family function. All of you brought so much light to my life. Thank you to Rodney and Scott and their families for always making me feel loved and laugh the loudest when we all got together.
Beyond your own family, thank you for giving me my second family. Thank you for making us all be so close and showing us the way to love and appreciate each other and everyone who we meet. You gave me an extended family that I’ll have forever. Even though I’m a hundred miles away, I know that you all are only a phone call away. So thank you a thousand times over for taking a chance on me when we all lived on Hendricks Street and sticking with me on this short life's journey.
Thank you for giving me the best advice, even when I don’t want to hear it. I’ve went to you with things I couldn’t tell my mom, and you always managed to make me smile. But thank you for letting me know that it’ was okay to mess up and make the wrong decision along the way because that’s how I have learned the most.
Again “thank you” for coming into my life and being a major part of my life. A wise man, by the name of “Hugh” shared with me these words of wisdom.....
All is well.
Nothing is past; nothing is lost
One brief moment and all will be as it was before
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!
Will Love You Always - Bobby
Lyrics from Vine Gill......
"Go Rest High On That Mountain"
I know your life
On earth was troubled
And only you could know the pain
You weren't afraid to face the devil
You were no stranger to the rain
Go rest high on that mountain
