Marion Vera Ploss' Obituary
Marion Vera Gebhardt Ploss, 102, died Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Dogwood Village Health and Rehab of Orange, Va. She was born June 6, 1909 in Brown Station, NY to the late John and Margaret Hennis Gebhardt.
Mrs. Ploss was a lifelong nurse having worked in many different hospitals and nursing homes nationwide. Marion was also a member of Eastern Star and she was approaching her 75th year anniversary. She was an avid knitter having knitted over a thousand items for a hospital in Texas. Using her talent of knitting, she became a member of the “Clickers Club” where she made charitable items for veterans, infants and hospitals.
She is survived by her four children, Gail Ploss Pierce of Turlock, CA, Christine Place of Culpeper, VA, Donna Ploss Dunlap and her husband, G. Edward of Wilmington, NC and Elaine Ploss Granger of Tujunga, CA, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Othmar Christian Ploss and her seven siblings and son-in-law, Ronald Pierce.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the charity of your choice.
