Marguerite Johnson's Obituary
Marguerite (Marge) Johnson, 92, of Spotsylvania County, passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 while at Mary Washington Hospital.
Marge is best remembered by her family and friends for the over 30 years she spent enriching her students lives as an elementary school teacher in both Massachusetts and Connecticut.
Marge had a fondness for nature and loved to spend time at her retreat home in Vermont and riding horses. She was always delighted to hear from an old student, or to spend time at her church enriching her faith at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Spotsylvania.
Marge leaves behind two children; a son, Robert Pike of Colorado, and a daughter, Cheryl Salinsky of Spotsylvania; seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Leslie, Rebecca, Billy, Derek, Kalyn and Joshua; one great-grandchild, Isabella; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family friends.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Johnson.
Marge's family will receive friends Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapels-Cremation Service, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Seventh Day Adventist Church, 6052 Plank Road, Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Gregory Arutyunyan officiating. Interment will be in Quantico National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, Marge’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in her name to Tree of Life Christian Preparatory School, 6050 Plank Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22407-6234.
