Margie Louise Van Lear Green
Margie Louise Van Lear Green 82 of Culpeper, formerly of Churchville and Staunton died on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Our Father’s House Christian Home. She was born on December 26, 1926 in Augusta County, VA to the late Oney Atwell Van Lear, Sr. and Ada Christine (Allen) Van Lear.
Mrs. Green was a member of the Culpeper Assembly of God.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lomo McClellan Green, Jr., grandson Justin Everett Hightower, her brothers, O.A. Van Lear, Jr. and Louis Van Lear and sister Ethel V. Rawley of Churchville and Mt. Solon VA
She is survived by her three sons Kenneth W. Green and wife, Judy, of Culpeper, Edward L. Green of Anchorage, Alaska, and Richard L. Green and wife, Mary, of Unionville and three daughters, Dona Papa-Green and husband, Dante, of Manassas and Wilmington, N.C., Sandra G. Brown and husband, Dennis, of Locust Grove and Betty Sue Hightower and husband, Donald, of Oak Harbor, Washington.
Mrs. Green is survived by a sister, Winifred A. Rawley of Mt. Solon and Bridgewater, VA. She is also survived by four grandsons: Don V. Dodson and wife, Angie, of Bealeton, Christopher Hightower of Oak Harbor, Washington, D.J. Brown of Locust Grove, and Faron Copas, II of Anchorage, Alaska; four granddaughters: Amy L. Brown, Stefanie Brown Williams and husband, James, of Locust Grove, Melissa Hoffman and husband, Donald, of Reva, Sharon Arnold and husband, Tommy, of Owosso, Michigan; and by five great grandsons: Dillon and Davis Hoffman, Reed Vernon and Cooper Mac Dodson, and Darren Copas; and two great granddaughters: Emma Marie Dodson and Lillian Arnold; and nieces and nephews in the Staunton and Harrisonburg, Virginia area.
A service will be held on Wednesday, July 22nd, at 1pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA with Pastor Randy Albritton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Culpeper National Cemetery (old).
The family wishes to thank Raymond Bender and his wife, Sharon, and all of their wonderful staff at Our Father’s House for the wonderful Christian care and love that they extended to our Mother during her stay at Our Father’s House since 2006. She was truly blessed to have received such comfort, care, and love daily including up until the final hour of her death from the staff.
