Margaret Simpson Wently's Obituary
Margaret Simpson Wently, 99, of Culpeper, died on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born on July 7, 1909 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late David and Margaret Blackwood Simpson.
Mrs. Wently was a member of Christian and Missionary Alliance where she was very involved in the church activities and teaching Sunday School. She loved to help others and enjoyed living and working at Our Fathers House. She spent much of her time visiting the elderly and sick. Throughout her long life she became known as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend to all.
She is survived by her children, Doris J. Prescott of Tennessee, Ruth O. Glover and her husband, Leroy of Ohio, and Darlene W. Pinkard of Culpeper, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Evan Bernard Wently, her son, David Wently, four brothers, William, David, Charles and Wallace Simpson and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701 with Rev. Tom Sawyer and Rev. Leroy Glover officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Columbia Gardens in Arlington.
