Margaret Lee Willis' Obituary
Margaret Lee Willis of Chesapeake, VA originally from Lignum, VA went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 11, 2011. Born on August 20, 1947, she is predeceased by her parents, Margaret Garnett Willis and Absalom Graves Willis. She is survived by her sister, Sarah Hart W. Blair and husband, William P. Blair of Suffolk, VA; brother, Edwin L. Willis and wife, Joyce Y. Willis, of Lignum VA; nephews, Thomas W. Blair, Richard W. Blair and wife, Elizabeth Blair of Suffolk, VA; nieces, Abigail W. Kearns and husband, Brian, and Jennifer L. Willis of Lignum, VA; great-nieces and great-nephews, Virginia H. Blair, Will Blair, Parker Blair, Peyton Blair, Madison Blair, Brandon Kearns and Andrew Kearns.
Margaret Lee was a lifelong member of Lael Baptist Church in Lignum, VA where she was active in the choir and was known as an accomplished musician and vocalist. She played many instruments to include the piano, violin, and guitar. Music, whether she was singing, playing, or listening was her source of brilliance. When she moved to Chesapeake, VA, she continued to be active with her music when possible.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Lael Baptist Church, Lignum, VA with Rev. John H. Willis III officiating.
Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
