sorry that we didn't see each other much at the end I was in Mexico . I m glad I just rember the way she was I never forget all the times with her she loved to go to stores and come eat at my house ride around help with my kids they helped me raise my first son Kenny Friday boy in the family my dad was so happy cause they had four girls than I had Melissa we stayed two years with them she used to feed them baby food and made sure the jar was empty she was something else I always took her to stores and places and she always wanted all the left overs don't waste no food around her one thing she didn't like she was a good person until my dad passed away she helped us girls but than she took a turn for the worste my young sister Sheila took over when she was sick and we got nothing she didn't like me or my sister Beverly anymore we think Sheila black mailed her so she could get all her assets she had her keys to home storages paying bills she helped her to the last min . I lost my storages had no where to live and she never cared to help I asked her she got mad but Sheila she would do anything for her and she got everything at the end we are still wandering till this day about Sheila everyone she's been a care taker to has died she has a nice Jeep donest come around us we would really like to know the truth behind this it's not fair for me and my sister Beverly to let her out us to the side because we don't have nothing . I know my mom had money she told me all that years before she was sick she had a lot of stuff in storages that was wroth money my dad sued JERice and got 60 some thousand dollars he told me she told him to shut up .they collected hundred dollar bill had them wrapped in rubber band when I lived in coverstone with them they count at night had them locked in a safe god I wish I knew we are struggling with our lives just knowing that our mom and sister could leave us out like this. you know how people are greety try to get everything I got nothing not even my enganment ring she said she would give back when she passed away how can family be so harsh to their own blood I lost my kids because she didn't help me but could help that Sheila she had no kids I was in the street in the snow with 2 babies and she didn't care I'm sorry this family is messed up but I would do anything if I could only know the truth behind that sister sheila she has never came around us science she passed away 9 years ago strange someone has to know something to relive me and my sister Beverly we always known this but have no money for lawyers and this family knows that I have ten children Beverly has five we never had a good life just hoping are mom would have thought about us to I know my dad would had it's a sham that money and ECT is more important than family Laura wensil June 27 2020 I just read this never knew they had this either so we could have let our anger out pray for us we will find something out

To Margaret's Family

Margaret Rose and Roger visited my family every summer in Richmond when we were growing up and we always had a wonderful time. Margaret and I were the same age and loved to play "dress up" and "movie stars" and put on shows for family to watch. I am sorry we lost touch over the years and that I did not know her children. I am sure she will be missed by all who loved her. God bless all of you.

Margaret Rose (Cross) Wensil 25 September 1939 to 7 June 2011

Margaret Wensil passed from this life to the next on June 7, 2011. Margaret Rose Cross was born to Evelyn Grace (Shealy) Cross and Edward James Cross on September 25th 1939 in Washington DC. She lived with her parents and younger Brother Roger in Washington DC as a child and later in Northern Virginia with Roger, her Mother, Stepfather George Vial and Half Sisters, Juanita (Vial) Diggs, Marlys (Vial) Howard, Jean (Vial) Ware and Half Brother George P. Vial.

As a child in DC she modeled Holiday Clothes along with her Brother Roger in the Washington Post Newspaper. As she grew older she became a fan of clothes, music and movies and enjoyed these throughout her life. As a Teen in the Manassas area she attended Osbourn High School. In the mid nineteen fifties she spent summers modeling in her bathing suit at the Lake Jackson Boat Mart to attract potential customers driving down Rte. 234. On the weekends Daddy George, as she called him, would drive her to the trailways bus station so she could go to Washington DC to visit her Father Eddie. During her visits she would attend movies and shows and became a lover of Calypso music and dance, like Harry Belafonte with his hit: Mama Look at Bubu. She had a voluptuous figure and at a live Calypso show she was brought on stage to dance with the band and that day became one of her happiest memories. She also made appearances on the Milt Grant Show, a Washington, DC teen dance party program aired on WTTG from 1956 to 1961. When she came home on Sunday she would always bake a big chocolate layer cake for the family and it became a main stay for family gatherings for years to come.

In the early nineteen sixties she met and married Wilbert Jackson Wensil “Droops”, the love of her life and together they had four beautiful Daughters Beverly, Lana, Laura and Sheila. While Droops worked and collected “treasures” from yard sales and junk yards she raised the children and tanned in the sun. She continued her love of music and classic movies of which she new every star and what they did on and off the screen including super stars like Liz Taylor, Cary Grant. She loved to have company and would entertain her girlfriends with finger sandwiches, cake and a little dance from the early days. She had a great since of humor and the gift of gab so visiting with friends and family was a favorite pass time. Children loved to visit the Wensil’s because there was never a shortage of popsicles, doughnuts and candy. I never remember her saying; no to a child, she just let them run, play and enjoy life.

As the years passed the girls left home and Margaret and Droops continued their life together. Droops developed cancer and fought it bravely for many years. Sadly in 1997 their Daughter Lana died and then Droops followed in 2000. Margaret moved to a one bedroom apartment still enjoying the company of neighbors and family. For the next ten years she looked forward to celebrating her birthday with her Mother Evelyn and her Sisters watching a movie and enjoying Chinese food. She loved her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and sometimes talked for hours with her Granddaughters on the phone. She enjoyed watching Cooking Shows, American Idle and Dancing with the Stars. She loved Italian food, Chinese and seafood especially steamed hard shell crabs. Margaret never drove a car so depended on others for shopping and outings she loved to go to “Family Dollar Store” to seek out bargains. At home she would sit by the window watching the world go by and dreaming of going to London and Ireland, a long time wish that she spoke of often.

The last few years Margaret was a victim of poor health but she never lost her since of humor or her love to chat. She will be missed by all and remembered with love.

Surviving are Daughter Beverly Wensil of Manassas and Grandchildren Michael, Andy, Jose, Enrique and Anna, Grandchildren (Children of Lana) Jennifer, Sherry, Crystal, Christine, Robert & Danny, Daughter Laura Wensil and Gran

in honor of Margaret.

I remember Margaret Rose coming to visit Aunt Inez in Richmond and the whole family would get together. Somehow I always managed to be there to "play" with Bettye (mind you I was 4 years younger. Margaret Rose and Roger were fascinating because they were my "Yankee" cousins, as seen from a Richmond perspective. It was always exciting when Uncle George and his family visited and a special treat when Margaret Rose and Roger stayed for an extended visit.

My husband, Ron, and I extend our deepest sympathy to family and friends. May fond memories ease your loss.
