Margaret Cooksey Walker's Obituary
Margaret Cooksey Walker, 92, of Culpeper peacefully passed away Wednesday August 26, 2015 at UVA Culpeper Regional Hospital surrounded by family.
Margaret was born June 12, 1923 in Rappahannock County to the late Benjamin and Ethel Cooksey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. A.C. Walker Jr.; her sister Virginia Cooksey; her daughter-in-law, Laura Walker; and her son-in-law, Ron Parker.
Margaret is survived by her children, John F. Walker, Rev. Philip Walker and his wife, Cheryl, Judy Reid and her husband, Larry and Susan Parker all of Culpeper; Mark Walker and his wife, Janet of Chesterfield, MO; and her 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Margaret taught for 44 years in the Orange and Culpeper County School Systems beginning in 1958. She served in the Culpeper Hospital Ladies Auxiliary for over 30 years, was a member of Culpeper Baptist Church, and enjoyed being involved in a local garden club.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday August 29, 2015 at 2pm at Culpeper Baptist Church 318 S. West Street with Rev. Dan Carlton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Burial will be private.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the Culpeper Baptist Retirement Community for their wonderful care of Margaret during the past two years.
